"C'est l'histoire d'un hasard & d'une rencontre entre la création, la recherche de liberté et un magasin de chaussures acquis par concours de circonstances."

the Origins
Vita: from the Latin "vita," meaning "life."
Founded in 2004 in northern France, Laura Vita is a combination of two names.
Laura: inspired by the Latin word “laurus,” which means “laurel,” and conveys the meanings of glory, victory, and, by extension, joy.
The Project & Creative Methodology
A thirst for pure creativity, a quest for freedom, and a level of comfort compatible with the life of an active woman—all in a spirit that transcends trends.
The very unassuming designer, who holds a doctorate in medicine and a doctorate in biology, founded the brand with the goal of offering modern women footwear that is beautiful, unique, and comfortable. Perhaps it was due to a lack of formal training in fashion design, or to a creative process rooted in research, but the products increasingly stood out for their unique appearance and colors. Very quickly, the eclectic style—sometimes whimsical, sometimes romantic—established itself.
Today, more in tune with the realities of everyday life yet still imbued with a unique sense of character, Laura Vita products are dedicated to giving women a way to fully express their personalities—defying conventions and preconceived notions.

Discretion
The designer declines any promotion not related to Laura Vita products. Our products speak for themselves. And the spotlight is on you. Our job is to create, test, produce, and present them to you.

The courage to hire women for key positions in the company
in-house training programs and opportunities for young talent.

A production line on a human scale
Our workshops, located around the world, are supervised and regularly inspected. They are small in size and enable local employees to live comfortably in a family-like environment.

We are working to increasingly use FSC-certified packaging and other types of packaging
Currently, all Laura Vita-branded shipping boxes are made of cardboard. Coming soon: Polystyrene insoles will be phased out of shoes produced in new manufacturing batches starting in 2021.
